Millie's Blog

If you have been to our store, you have probably met Millie. She is Minature Australian Shephard that became part of my life and a member of the Mill Creek Antique Mall family in May of 2011. She was barely 8 weeks old when she made her debut at the store and now she is a fixture there.

You can find her there almost every day, greeting customers, walking the floor, or running after one of her half eaten toys that she won't give up. Sometimes she will get herself into trouble, after all, she is entering her doggie teens. When that happens, she ends up having herself a doggie time-out behind the register, in puppy jail, where I can keep an eye on her. For the most part, she is a really good dog.

This is Millie's blog. We will do our best to keep you informed on her day to day doings, as we really enjoy having her around, and want to share her with all our friends of the store. We hope you enjoy this as much as we do. Enjoy !

Millie Convincing Me That Throwing Her Toy Is Much More Important Than Me Getting Things Done...

For all of you who come in to Mill Creek Antique Mall and see Millie laying around, napping, and say, "what a calm quiet dog she is".

Well, this is the Millie I see at home before and after work, the tireless bundle of energy that likes to hunt down, bring me a toy for me to throw for her, over, and over and over again... Did I mention over and over and over again ?...

She lives for that, she is such a good girl...

Millie on the mend...

Well, if you have been in the last month or so, you may have seen Millie hobbling around the store with her leg wrapped up. Update on that little injury, she seems to have made a full recovery. But, now she has her other front leg, (this time her passenger side), wrapped up. She got excited at a friends house seeing her doggie buddy and out the window she went while I was parking. Her leg was too swollen at the time to make a good evaluation from the x-ray of what kind of damage she did to it, so she gets to wear the wrap for two weeks then backin to check it out.

Don't let her fool you though, she's getting around just fine, and now has learned how to milk it a bit, she is loving the sympathy...

Today,Millie found one of her rawhides she hid in a booth a while back. Now she will run around the store for a while whining and looking for a place to hide it again. Don't be surprised if you are in the store and come across one of her toys or rawhides in an unusual place. A dogs work is never done...

After a long day at work, do we really have to stop for gas on the way home ? I mean really ? You humans should really learn to manage your time better, like us dogs... you could learn a thing or two from us...

If you ask Millie, when it's ok to play, nowhere is off limits or out-of-bounds to play and have fun, anyplace can be your playground even the staircase...

You know, that's really not a bad philosphy to have in life... maybe we can learn something from her...

Yep ! Caught her again. Millie gets anxious to go to work, sometimes she just has no patience and threatens to take off without me... I caught her just in time, she was just getting ready to pop it into reverse and leave me hangin'...

Always ready to play, toy in mouth, Millie is under the assumption that everyone comes in just to see her... well, I guess that is true in some cases...

Thanks for the "toy" now it's time to play...

so she played...

and played...

and played...

and played...

Poor Millie, she works so hard to try to hide her bone, she whines for the entire time she was looking for that perfect spot, I feel bad for her, but it is really quite entertaining to watch...

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work we go...

I tried to tell Millie that I was trying to watch TV, and that she was in the way. This is what she thought about that...

Quiet day down at the store, Millie decided to take a siesta...  Millie, lay down... stay... good girl...

Well, today I caught Millie taking the store cart for a ride. Yes that somewhat blurred image zipping by is her. You just can't take your eyes off them for a minute when they're that age...

I taught Millie to blow a bubble with gum today, smart dog... ok, she is a smart dog, but that is really just her favorite ball, she's wanting to play... but we are working on the bubble blowing thing...

Millie... my co pilot...

Trying to help me clean up a newly vacated booth
Actually, she's not quite the helper she might seem to be. She was actually just eyeballing a candle she thought would make a great new toy !
What am I chewing on ? Nothing, why do you ask ?...
